Explore Local Art​ At The New River Artist Co-Op
We invite you to discover the artists of the New River Artist Cooperative located inside the History Fort Lauderdale museum on Thursday 1/26 from 6-8PM for open studio tours with their 6 talented Artists In Residence as part of FTLADW23.

Tour their studios here at History Fort Lauderdale and learn about their different styles and inspirations over drinks and lite bites.

Interested art patrons are invited to join us for a kickoff reception celebrating the inaugural "ArtHollywood" series of events including Open Studio tours as part of Fort Lauderdale Art and Design Week. At 6pm, Curator of Exhibitions Meaghan Kent will give a gallery tour of the Hollywood Art & Culture Center's current exhibition 2022 Florida Biennial: Installations, Portraiture, Materiality, and Magic Realism.

Maps of the Hollywood Open Studios taking place the following day (1/28 from noon-4pm) will be distributed to attendees this evening.

"ArtHollywood" Open Studio Tours
In partnership with Fort Lauderdale Art and Design Week (FTLADW), Art and Culture Center/Hollywood, and the City of Hollywood (ArtsPark at Young Circle), Hollywood area artists are thrilled to present the inaugural "ArtHollywood" Hollywood Open Studios featuring local artists on Saturday, January 28, noon-4pm. 

As part of this series of events Hollywood Artists will open their doors to visitors to share their work and insight on their process. Work will be presented in private studio spaces and public art spaces including:

  • The Hollywood Historical Society organized by Harumi Abe
  • Marine Environmental Education Center at the historic Carpenter House (MEEC) work by Alissa Alfonso
  • The Art School at the Art and Culture Center/Hollywood (organized by Meaghan Kent)
  • The Community Gallery at the Art and Culture Center/Hollywood (organized by Meaghan Kent)
  • ArtsPark at Young Circle (organized by Jill Weisberg)

Maps will be available at the participating spaces. Additionally, there will be a special kickoff reception, gallery talk, and tour of the current exhibition at the Art and Culture/Hollywood on Friday, January 27, 6-8pm where maps will be available for pickup.

Admission to the Art and Culture Center/Hollywood for the Hollywood Open Studios day will be free for all visitors to view the following exhibitions currently on view: “2022 Florida Biennial: Installations, Portraiture, Materiality, and Magic Realism” and “Carolina Cueva: The Memory that Transforms into a Place”.

The 2022 Florida Biennial: Installations, Portraiture, Materiality, and Magic Realism was juried by Ylva Rouse, Senior Curator of MOCA Jacksonsville, and organized by the Center’s Curator of Exhibitions Meaghan Kent and Arts Aspire Curatorial Assistant Joanna Ruiz.​

Fort Lauderdale Art & Design Week (January 21-29, 2023) is a result of the desire to unite all of Fort Lauderdale's artists and arts & cultural institutions in an effort to highlight all that the city has to offer through an annual self-guided tour and celebration of everything art and culture throughout the Greater Fort Lauderdale area with the ultimate goal of establishing Fort Lauderdale as an international cultural destination.
