HAMILTON
An American Musical is a sung- and rapped-through musical about the life of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, with music, lyrics, and book by Lin-Manuel Miranda,inspired by the 2004 biography Alexander Hamilton by historian Ron Chernow. Incorporating hip hop, R&B, pop, soul, traditional-style show tunes, and color-conscious casting of non-white actors as the Founding Fathers and other historical figures, the musical achieved both critical acclaim and box office success.

SISTRUNK-A-FAIR
With art being one of the major industries in the world today, we would like to shine a light on some of the artists of color who may get over looked in the industry. Art N Soul along with C.R.E.A.T.E is proud to present The Sistrunk-a-fair. This will be a weeklong event starting from Jan. 20-26 hosting a number of art events. This includes exhibits, performances, and films throughout the historical black communities of Broward County. This event will showcase art of local artists from various cities, painting highlighting the historical pioneers from Fort Lauderdale, Pompano, Dania, Pearl City, and Hallandale to capture some of the untold stories of these areas for all to see.
One of the main events that will take place during the expo is the “We Love Art too” exhibition curated by Art N Soul’s, Al Huggins. This exhibit will highlight artists whom identify with their African diaspora inviting all African American, Afro Cubans, Caribbean and West Indian artists to be a part of this exhibition. The exhibition will house 25 artists of color sharing their story thru the arts that they have created, with its on canvas, sculpture, or film . This Exhibition will start on Jan. 20, 2019 ending on Mar. 1, 2019 and will be the premier art exhibit for black history month. This exhibition will be on display in the heart of Fort Lauderdale’s historical black community at The African American Research Library. The AARL will be the nucleus for all the events that surround The Sistrunk-A-Fair, creating a black art destination for buyers, collectors and spectators. During the Sistrunk-a-Fair a number of events will take place at various locations from the “The Art of Story Telling” giving the historians from various communities the opportunity to tell the community and guest the history of Black Broward with an open dialog about the changes coming to Broward County’s black communities. This will be a historical point in the city of Fort Lauderdale and the county of Broward showing how art can bring communities together. Art n Soul along with C.R.E.A.TE. look forward to working with all community partners to make this history lesson come true. |

VERNISSAGE: ART FORT LAUDERDALE
The opening night reception of Art Fort Lauderdale where collectors, curators, artists, art enthusiasts and members of the press are invited to connect with the artists and supporters of the fair. It will be a night to remember with live entertainment, cocktails and light bites.

LATE NITE CATECHISM
You, the audience member, are part of Sister’s class. She’ll take you back to the days of the Latin Mass, meatless Fridays, and remind you about that good old ruler across the knuckles!
Call it Loretta Young meets Carol Burnett. This is part catechism class, part stand-up routine. It’s an interactive comedy, one of the longest running shows in Chicago and U.S. theater history. The New York Times calls it, "hilarious, well-written and inspired." Jeffrey Lyons from TV’s Sneak Previews calls Late Nite Catechism "something to savor and enjoy....one of the most intimate, rewarding shows in town." |

B.A.S.E. BROWARD'S ARTISTRY N SOUL EXPERIENCE
B.A.S.E.(Broward's Artistry N Soul Experience) is an art exhibit taking place January 24th 2019 highlighting local black artists from Broward county as they illustrate the beauty of Broward's black history from the past and the present. Walking into the exhibit one will see illustrations of the likes of James Sistrunk, Cannonball Adderley, Esther Rolle, and many more, as well as key landmarks such as The Bowles Strachan house, the farmlands in Pompano, Attucks when it was the main black high school of South Broward etc.
The significance of the event is to showcase the local talent the black community that Broward county has as well as creating dialogue of our local history, celebrating what we once had as well as where do we go from here. There will also be a screening of the short film, "Art beyond the tracks" a short film about the black art scene in Broward county. |

FORT LAUDERDALE ARCHITECTURAL FAIR
The inaugural edition of the Fort Lauderdale Architectural Fair (FTLAF) will showcase the creativity of architects based in South Florida and beyond. This event will invite the general public to explore how the latest innovations in architecture can prepare cities for sea-level rise.
The Fair will be hosted by AIA Fort Lauderdale and include educational sessions, films, architectural walking tours, and workshops. |

ART FORT LAUDERDALE
Art Fort Lauderdale is a four-day curated art fair that transports attendees on a journey along the famed Intracoastal waterways via water taxi and private yacht with stops at vacant luxury waterfront properties that feature over 100 artists and galleries exhibiting various styles and methods of art that reflect the past, the present and the future. This destination art fair seeks to highlight the uniqueness of the city and put Fort Lauderdale on the art world map as a premier location to view, interact with and purchase art along with giving art aficionados, residents and visitors a cultural experience that is memorable, interactive and engaging.
These exhibits will feature paintings, illustrations, sculptures, installations, photographs, films, performance arts and art & technology collaborations in addition to talks with artists, collectors, and curators. |
